Mount Ngungun- A Climb in 1.5hrs

by Patrick Lenihan

Got there at about 8.30- 9am really hot day in May. Had been fairly wet and muddy. Obey the signs or cop a $440 fine for walking on the old track. Saw lots of cliff climbers with ropes. Not a good walk to try if you're really unfit or have high blood pressure. The climb will be harder then Mount Beerburrum and Coolum, but it's a walk in the park compared to Mount Beerwah and Tibrogargan. Mount Crookneck is easy to spot towards the west just in front of Mount Beerwah. While to the direct south views of Mount Tibrogargan can be seen. Sign at front of walk warning to keep back from cliff edges is 100 percent accurate. At the summit there's a 30m or so drop to the base towards the south. Keep young children with you at all times. Falling rocks can occur between the last warning sign and the summit, don't try to dislodge the rocks, serious injuries have occurred here. Announce any rocks falling to people behind you. Overall ratings:

Difficulty; Class 4 out of 6 2 hrs recommended has been done in less than hour though!
